The systems he discusses to de-clutter your life are terrific for someone like myself who just can't seem to get past the clutter of paper both at home and in the office. Comments: This book is written for real people - those of us on the go who want to organize using the (usually limited) space and accessories readily available in our homes. The author is a big proponent - as am I - of getting rid of useless junk, so packrats beware! A perfect book for anyone wishing they were more organized but don't know where to start.

The Office Clutter Cure: How to Get Out from Under It All! ASIN: 0937750085
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: This book decluttered my mind
Comments: When I was the secretary and the executive assistant, I was the best and most organized person any boss could want. When I became the boss, I became buried in meetings, interruptions, customer service and problems, no one to delegate to, and fear of losing something important. In the past 7 years I have bought many
"organizational" books - some I even bought twice because they never got through to me (didn't even impress me enough to remember I had bought them before!) to help me tackle the piles of paper. I pretty much shuffled stacks around until I bought Don's book. I started reading it yesterday, and after being out sick for one week, I went in today (Saturday) and in 4 hours, cleaned out 3 years of paper. I didn't just clean - I got rid of. I looked at everything with new eyes. Don has a way of putting all that paper into clear perspective
- you can look at paper and see if it should go or stay. It was incredible. Now my mind is decluttered too - just like he said. I would recommend this to anyone who has a lot of paper (and facts)
to deal with. His common-sense approach helps you make it your own - there's nothing to learn - he just puts it all in perspective so you can know how YOU want to deal with it. I've never written a review before - but couldn't wait to write this one. I hope this helps some other person tackle their paper. I accomplished more today than I can remember in one day - and know this will help me stay organized and cut back on the 70 hr weeks I normally put in. My employees respect me, but I always felt out of control with all that paper staring me (and everyone else) in the face. Now my office looks like I am in control! Thanks, Don!

Clutter Proof Your Business: Turn Your Mess into Success ASIN: 1564146006
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Take Control of Your Life!
Comments: These days, it is easier than ever to accumulate "stuff". In my case, that "stuff" is in various forms of information, both electronic and in print. Everyone collects a certain amount of stuff over the years. What most of us don't realize is how much our stuff takes away from our productivity. Stuff slows us down more than we realize. Why have stuff? Because we think it makes life easier; it provides a comfort zone. But filing, organizing, storing, moving, and searching through stuff is actually enslaving! If it is piled up on your desk, as in my case, then it is even more burdening. Ugh! Every single item that you own takes a certain amount of maintenance. It has to be stored, occassionally reviewed, periodically relocated, and rarely, if ever, it gets used. Because of "stuff", you need a better filing system, more shelves, larger hard disks, and so on. Stuff makes life more complicated, more stressful. Take a moment and think about it. Does your "stuff" really make life better? Or is it simply providng a comfort zone for you? The irony is, your comfort is diminished by this so called "comfort zone" created from all this "stuff". It is time to get your act together, isn't it? Cerainly it is for me! Get un-cluttered! Mike is an expert on the subject of clutter. He explains the importance of minimizing and he explains why less is more. Let Mike show you how to clean up that clutter and keep it that way. In this information age, where everyone collects every bit of data on every subject known to man, it is more important than ever to find peace in efficiency. Don't let stuff rule your business and your life. Control the clutter, minimize the stuff, and you will be more efficient and effective in your business and personal life.

Taming the Paper Tiger at Work ASIN: 0938721984
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: This is it!
Comments: I have read at least a dozen books on how to get organized, at work or in general. As a professional with a private office, I have found this book the most helpful, inspirational, and practical among those. The language is neither condescending nor folksy; the principles are clearly stated and summarized; and all advice is eminently applicable. Now I have all my office files in half a drawer and I can produce any document within seconds. The author does not require you to clean up your office in one day: you are allowed to start from today's paper piles and work backwards as needed. We procrastinators are now officially out of excuses.
