Summary: Amazing stuff
Comments: A friend lent me this video, and after 2 sessions, I had to have it myself! Some of the exercises are difficult at first (for the hip exercises, your leg really does feel "nailed to the floor"), but as I got stronger, it became very easy, but I still knew I had quite a workout when I was done. And what a difference you'll see and feel! My size 13 jeans have since gone to the donation box, and I'm wearing a size 7!

Summary: a great "starter" tape
Comments: This is 2 complete 20 minute workouts, and it's the gentlest of the available Callanetics videos. It makes an excellent introduction to this unique method, and good for people with not much time to spare. Another added benefit (and this is especially true of the PM section), is that it's wonderfully soothing, and if you're feeling anxious or stressed, Callan's soft and gentle voice, guiding you through these slow motions, will help release any tension, and calm the nerves. If you're the type that needs a lot of "bounce and flash" to get you motivated, Callanetics is not for you...this is indeed "meditation in motion"...the exercises can be very difficult if done correctly, but everything is done quietly and in "triple slow motion".
A note to anyone who like me, has weak or problem knees: You may have to modify your movements in the "Pelvic Weave" and "Front Thigh Stretch" in the AM workout, and in the "Pelvic Rotation", "Pelvic Scoop", and again the "Front Thigh Stretch" in the PM portion. Go at your own pace, and you'll find your knees getting stronger quite rapidly. I was amazed to find that I could kneel and sit on my heels after only 3 weeks...it has been decades since my knees had the agility to do this.
Strength and flexibility are the 2 major benefits I've received so far in the few weeks I've been doing these exercises, and why I would recommend Callanetics to anyone over 40. These are the 2 things we start to lose with age that make us "old", and contribute to accidents and ill health. I've also noticed some body shape changes, but it's the feeling of well being that I value more than anything...and the ability to stretch like I haven't been able to do in years.
Callan says of this tape that you'll feel energized with the AM, and relaxed with the PM, and have "a great body 24 hours a day". Thank you Callan, for inventing a system that I look forward to doing on a daily basis, and that is making a profound difference in my life.

Summary: unique in many ways
Comments: Created and demonstrated by Callan Pinckney, this is a "no impact" approach to exercise. The video states that these exercises will "tighten the abdominal muscles from the breastbone to the pubis/release tension in the back of the neck/lengthen the neck/release tension across the shoulder blades/expand breathing capacity by expanding the chest/lift breasts by working the pectoral muscles/eliminate double chins/release tension and stretch the entire back".
The reasons I find this video different from most of the fare available are:
# 1: Very glamorous, and with a trim figure, Callan is a mature woman, and doesn't try to be "cute and perky" to motivate you. With a soft and lovely voice, she slowly guides you through these calming exercises that actually have an effect on the nervous system. I have used this video not only for exercise, but to release stress and anxiety.
# 2: "Gentleness is the Key Word". While the exercises are hard, and I can feel the "burn", they are extemely simple, done in "triple slow motion", and literally with no impact. I have "funny knees", and this is the first time I have not felt them "act up" from a workout program.
# 3: It will be over before you know it. I'm amazed how fast this 20 minutes goes by.
For the last exercise, you will need the back of an armchair, or something flat and sturdy to lean up against and hold on to. I use the coffee table.
Though this is available in an hour long video that includes the other 2 "Quick Callanetics" workouts for "Legs" and "Hips and Behind", I'd rather have them in separate videos. For those with specific "trouble spots" as well as time constraints, these videos are an efficient, relaxing, mellow way to get in shape, and Callan's charm and peaceful demeanor make it a pleasure to invite her into your living space with this wonderful method she has created.

Summary: its true results after one time!
Comments: It sounds impossible but, it is true. After using this tape one time i actually saw results. I have used ten times now and can't believe the difference in my hips especially. If anyone had said to me I would see results so fast i would never had believed them.I can't imagine the results if i were dieting. These tapes are inspiring me to do so. What is really wierd is how relaxing they are while kicking my rear!

Comments: Callanetics is designed to be done slowly, with very small increments of movement, which make this method good for people of all ages, and at any level of athletic ability.
This tape claims to: "Make legs tighter and longer looking/Eliminate sagging knees/Tighten gooshy, sagging skin/Create beautiful, shapely legs".
There's a lot of stretching in this particular "Quick Callanetics" tape, and like all of these workouts, one is instructed to "work at one's own pace".
The production is simple, with 3 students demonstrating along with Callan, who's lovely, musical voice is a big plus in making her videos enjoyable.
If like me, you have weak or problem knees, you may have to modify several of the exercises, until your knees get stronger. "Pelvic Weave", "Plie and Balance", "Pelvic Rotation", "Pelvic Scoop", and "Front Thigh Stretch" tend to be hard on my knees, making this the Callanetics tape I use the least.
I highly recommend, for people like me, the "Quick Callanetics: Stomach" video, which is entirely stress-free for the knees.
These exercises take up very little space, but you will need a barre, or a sturdy piece of furniture (for leg stretches) as a substitute.
You'll feel relaxed after doing Callan's workouts, as the calmness of them bring peace of mind, as well as tremendous benefits to the body.

Summary: Blessed Callanetics!
Comments: I have tried countless different types of exercises, as I am very interested in them all. However, finding Callanetics was an amazing and wonderful surprise, as I have never found (and am sure I never will) a better exercise video. The time it takes to do it is well work it. I was very energized, well-worked, and relaxed after I do it. It improves posture and attitude, plus body shape. I cannot say enough good about it. You must try it!
