Summary: A "must have" for starting home care. Get it!
Comments: When we first learned my mother who has MS was going to need home care, a friend recommended the Home Care Organizer. Without a doubt, it has been invaluable in getting us organized...a place for listing medications, physicians, appointments, and a glossary and resource guide (with Internet resources!). Being able to add pages is also a plus. Her home care agency is now considering using it as a gift to every new patient! AND...it's so affordable!

Summary: Wonderful to have - IF you only have two children!
Comments: I loved the book, and have referenced it often, but it is a little more tailored towards the working mother than I had anticipated. There is a whole section on Child Care (interviewing potential nannies and such) that as a stay at home mom was completely not relevant to me. The biggest disappointment, however, was the fact that there's only space for TWO children! I am expecting my third soon, and am wondering how to incorporate their information into this otherwise outstanding book. They have lots of lists and places to put information I never even thought of before, and that aspect of this book is great. Just can't believe the authors didn't give any thought to the family that doesn't have 2.5 children (heck, even the .5 child gets short-changed!)

Summary: Hope for working moms
Comments: This is a book that I have referred to over and over again to get myself organized and stay organized. Emile Barnes uses a no nonsense approach to get you organized. Her common sense system of using a timer and giving yourself 15 minutes to stay focused on your area of attack is great. I am a working mom with two toddlers. I read this book originally when I got married 7 years ago. I read it at least once a year to reinspire myself and as a constant reference to stay motivated with a busy schedule to get organized.

Summary: Not what I'd hoped for...
Comments: As a busy mom who is an organizer at heart, I am always looking for hints for staying even more organized. I was really looking forward to receiving this book. However, I was very disappointed when I began "reading" it. Each chapter in this book is basically a list of "bullets". It is very scattered and not at all entertaining or creative in it's design. I'm sure there is much wisdom, as the other reviews suggest, but it would take forever to read through each bullet to try to find something that might apply to me. When I sat down to read it, I felt as though I was reading someone else's notes that they jotted down as ideas came to them. For example, in the section for children, she has a hint about homework followed by a hint about gardens, using timers, games, and desserts. It's not that these aren't good ideas, they are just not organized in a user-friendly way. Emilie seems to be a very sweet woman, who does have her priorities straight and does have good ideas, she just needs to find a better writer/publisher for this book. In short, this is the most unorganized book on organizing that I have ever seen.
