Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life: How to Use Feng Shui to Get Love, Money, Respect, and Happiness ASIN: 0684866048
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Feng Shui - this book kicks it up a notch!
Comments: If you have been frustrated with some of the other books on mastering the concepts of Feng Shui, don't give up. This book by Karen Rauch Carter, a licensed landscape architect as well as a Feng Shui consultant, provides practical applications of the Feng Shui approach to home design along with a humorous writing style that makes this book not only informative and helpful, but a delight to read. The author explains each of the nine guas, or life situations, represented in the home: prosperity, fame and recognition, relationships and love, family, health, creativity and children, skills and knowledge, career and helpful people and travel. By utilizing Feng Shui, you can learn how to best arrange and place various artifacts and possesions throughout the home in a way that will manifest positive results in each of the life situations. Many of us already have some idea about what looks or feels right about how we design our spaces, and the author states that this Chinese wisdom really is just common sense. For example, I already knew that it was not a good idea to house my collection of true crime books on the shelves in my meditation room! Carter also provides some real life examples of how our surroundings influence what happens in our lives. She describes how some single women are frustrated in their inability to attract love in their lives. In viewing their homes, she finds the rooms are adorned by paintings, photographs and other items that represent women alone. The solution? Replace these with things in pairs, items that represent love and partnership. She discusses the symbolism of shapes, colors, images and how they affect our behavior and lifestyles. Our homes truly are an accurate reflection of what is going on inside ourselves. A home that is full of chaos and disrepair is generally a sign of a person in conflict and ill health. The author also gives insights on how to arrange a work space and using the nine guas to best arrange items on your desk for the best results. To a skeptic, this might seem like a lot of new age mumbo jumbo, but from personal experience, I've had quite positive results by applying these principles. Trust in it and it will work. As a self-confessed pack rat who undertakes a major home overhaul about every seven years, I found this book highly motivational and inspiring as I began my latest home makeover. With this book to guide me, I've been able to move my belongings to more appropriate locations within my home, make the best use of color and placement, and most of all, live life with more purpose and joy because my surroundings now help contribute to my contentment and serenity.

Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui ASIN: 0767903595
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: This Book ROCKED my Cluttered Life
Comments: I LOVE THIS BOOK! Clearing your clutter helps you, those that live with you, and those around you. There is an overwhelming amount of literature on the topic of Feng Shui, where does one begin to learn? Karen Kingston's "Clear Your Clutter" will provide the perfect beginning. Not only does is this book based on clearing tangible clutter but Karen also delves into the INtangible clutter, spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental. She FOCUSES clearly on the reasoning behind clearing clutter...to bring new and better things INTO your life, you must remove the old and musty clutter. Her probing insight leaves questions not only DO you keep clutter, but WHY you keep clutter, are you in denial about your clutter? Was it inherited? Are your parents packrats? Were there old emotional attachments that are now gone?
I had never heard of this book, I just saw it on the shelf in the self-help section and thought, "Now THAT is something I NEED." Truly, this book has helped me to re-evaluate all the "junk" that I have been holding on to for years. Karen Kingston enlightens her readers by pointing out that clutter in ANY part of your house cultivates weight on/in your life. She shows how the house is divided by the Feng Shui bagua and which sections/corners of your house represent which part of your life. This is about as far as she goes into Feng Shui because the purpose of the book is to help you clear the clutter so that you can GET to the Feng Shui balancing part
Not only did I learn a great deal about the author through this book, but a great deal about myself. I even gave my first copy to a loved one and bought another for myself so I could highlight it and make notes. Bottomline, this is MORE than just a self-help book.

101 Feng Shui Tips for the Home ASIN: 1567188095
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: perfect for beginners!
Comments: Well, it's a simple story: I was interested in the subject and picked up a few books that would introduce me to it. All the books I bought were supposedly written for beginners but this is the only one that I was actually able to read and apply from start to end (the others being too complicated or abstract). With 20/20 hindsight, I can honestly say this is the only book that you'll need to start making significant changes to your sorroundings and your life. Extremely useful, it is sitting on my coffee table right now and I refer to it almost everyday.

Fast Feng Shui for Singles: 108 Ways to Heal Your Home and Attract Romance ASIN: 1931383049
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Charming and truly helpful!
Comments: I've been into Feng Shui for quite a while now and so have read several books about it and I can say that Stephanie's book is defintely one of the easiest to follow, most original and most charming ones that have ever come my way. The greatest thing about it is that it doesn't only talk about the "usual" FS stuff, like symbols or gadgets that'll enhance chi in certain guas, but it also works as a kind of a psychological guide: it takes you trough the different phases of a relationship and gives you ideas on how you can make your inner self more -so to say- productive - as well as your home. Stephanie's writing style is truly charming - you feel as if she was sitting there with you. An absolute must-have on everyone's shelf looking for a new romance - whether or not into FS.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Feng Shui (2nd Edition) ASIN: 0028643399
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A MUST-BUY!
Comments: Hooray! Now here is a book that shows what Feng Shui really is! If you always thought "There must be more to Feng Shui than hanging crystal balls in the corner!" here are your answers. Don't get confused by the title, this book is for the serious student. It also can turn any idiot into an expert. Elizabeth Moran not only compiled the Feng Shui knowledge from the masters Joseph Yu and Val Biktashev, she also added a lot of scientific material to explain the origin of the concepts behind Feng Shui. Like any "Complete Idiot's Guide" this one is well structured, you can take the long tour and read about all the backgrounds before you get to the practical applications, or you can immediately flip to the Feng Shui stuff and start practising in your own house. Wonder where your wealth corner is? In Traditional Feng Shui there are even two and there is also your personal wealth direction! It was very brave of Elizabeth Moran to completely rewrite the book. (Make sure you get the "Second Edition!") The first edition was already better than average, but it still contained some confusing concepts. Now the Second Edition is THE book that a master can recommend to his clients if they want to know more about why he told them to move the bed. It covers the two most common Feng Shui schools practiced throughout Asia - Eight House School and Flying Stars, it explains the backgrounds, advantages and disadvantages of both and how to combine them in reading the same house. For easy reference every possible star chart is in this book - they come in circles so the beginner can easily apply them, though it may be a little confusing at first for the advanced student. Giving you even more at no extra cost, this book also includes an easy to read and easy to apply introduction into Chinese Astrology. All the tables are there to construct anybody's horoscope chart - and you don't have to learn a single Chinese character. The Chinese believe that Heaven, Earth and Man must come together to create luck, that is doing the right thing in the right place at the right time. This book provides you with all the knowledge to find out when and where you can do it. About the reviewer: Robert Schmitz is a professional Feng Shui consultant in Berlin, Germany. I am asked quite often which books I could recommend. Now I found one!

The Complete Illustrated Guide to Feng Shui: How to Apply the Secrets of Chinese Wisdom for Health, Wealth and Happiness ASIN: 1852309024
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: One of the most comprehensive books on feng shui
Comments: Lillian Too's books are a joy to read, not only because they are well written, but because the feng shui in it really works. I am a feng shui consultant and practitioner and compared to many of the other authors and books on the market, Lillian Too is the real thing. If you read the Complete Idiot's Guide for example, what basis is there for assigning a Western astrological onthly sign to each animal year in the Chinese zodiac. Does that mean every person has two Earthly Branch signs and two western astrology signs? Lillian Too has a skill of making even the most seemingly complicated theories and formulas easy for her reader. I recommend her highly, not just for her feng shui books but all her books. SHe has changed my life and I will always admire her.
