Weight Watchers Magazine ASIN: B00005NIPE
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Perfect for me
Comments: I think this magazine is perfect for me. Lots of variety and helpful tips. Wish it was monthly though or at least a bit more thick than it is now for being bi-monthly.

Men's Health ASIN: B00005N7RD
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: The best Health magazine you can buy!
Comments: Even though I'm a woman, I started reading Mens Health because the women's fitness magazines were all fluff. I liked it so well I bought a subscription for my son, who reads every issue cover to cover. As a nurse, I find the health articles to be cutting edge, especially concerning diet and the prevention of coronary artery disease (the biggest killer of men in the US). Since this magazine is geared towards young men, the sex articles go with the territory. The articles are well written; generally encouraging men to behave in a sexually responsible manner. How can any woman object to articles that instruct men on how to please a woman?

Men's Fitness ASIN: B00005N7RC
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: The best of the current Muscle Mags
Comments: With so many "resources" out there these days for building muscle, losing fat, and getting in the best shape of your life, it's tough to match the gym mindset to a single magazine. Men's Fitness has won me over with its simpler approach, and realistic outlook on physique building. Easy-to-follow workout plans, valuable product recommendations and common sense diet and nutrition advice has made Men's Fitness my magazine of choice. You won't find inflated, juiced up bodybuilders in these pages (thankfully), nor will you be overloaded with sexual advice and sales pitch after pitch (like that other Men's _____). Instead, you'll pick up valuable advice on broadening shoulders, improving your focus, and getting good clean foods incorporated into your lifestyle. Each month I pick up a couple of valuable tips out of this magazine, and usually wind up tweaking my workout slightly based on a tip the editors have provided. That makes my investment in Men's Fitness more than worthwhile. If you are serious about weight training, and looking for a magazine devoted to that purpose, Men's Fitness is the best of the bunch

Prevention ASIN: B00005NIOO
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Tons of Ads, and Little Content
Comments: This is not my favorite fitness magazine. This is the size of a Reader's Digest, but is packed with ads just like a Beauty Magazine. I find this a bit disappointing considering the breadth of information they tend to cover. They share reasonable and attainable goals, and suggestions for us normal people. The magazine seems to cover a wide age group, with information that is good for both young and old. They do offer recipes, workout suggestions, and much more. The magazine takes little time to read, and seems to only serve as a springboard for more follow up on topics you enjoy. I think this is a better magazine to browse through at the supermarket than to purchase.

Spirituality and Health ASIN: B00006KXX2
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Enlightened reading for the enlightened reader
Comments: I picked up a copy of Spirituality and Health a couple of years ago at a bookstore and sent in the subscription card right away. This magazine is wonderful if you're looking for a magazine devoted to putting a spiritual persceptive on life. This magazine covers everything; mind, body, and spirit, the total package. In the back there are also listings of upcoming events that the spiritually inclined may be interested in. I highly recommend this magazine, as I always catch myself saying to someone, "I just read this awesome article in Spirituality and Health..."

Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Timely and Unbiased
Comments: Remember those exposes on the content of a Cinnabon bun? Or a serving of Kung Pao chicken? This is the newsletter that broke those stories. Published by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, this small newsletter (10-20 pages) is packed with info and *no ads*. Each issue has a cover story (for example Cancer, Does Fat make you Fat?, Nutrion and Aging, Which Vitamins are right for you, etc.) which gives high level statics and attempts to divide myth from fact based on interviews with respected experts. Most articles are accompanied by a table of comparisons with nutritional information with their recommendations marked as "Best Bites" (recent reviews include ice cream, peanut butter, vegetables, etc.). There is a regular column with recipes and the back page features two new products, one healthy, one not. Well written unbiased timely reporting on nutrition. What more can you ask for?

Alternative Medicine ASIN: B000066HUY
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Get this magazine!
Comments: Simply put, the best there is. This magazine has been in the forefront of getting the word out on alternative treatments as well as informing on current toxic therapies. They've been saying for years that mammograms do more harm than good. Finally, the mainstream media catches up with them. I've read this magazine since 1995, when it was founded. The information I have garnered has been invaluable. I never throw away a single issue. Their books are the best on the market. I especially appreciate their efforts to inform people about the hazards of current cancer "treatments"...
