Hiking the Grand Canyon - The Corridor Trails ASIN: 1558381902
Customer's Rating: 1 Summary: Accurate video, but not what I was wanting
Comments: This video, while very detailed and full of accurate information just wasn't what I was looking for. The South Kaibab and the Bright Angel trails kicked my tail ... I was looking for something that would show what I felt when I hiked them. I will hike them again. I don't want to die knowing I got whipped that bad by those two trails.

Hiking Grand Canyon ASIN: 0938216600
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Head Clogs
Comments: I made this video. We hiked into the Canyon with the able help of the Grand Canyon Association and the Park Staff...and don't forget the mule teams. Having read everything on the Canyon over the past thirty years, and visiting for four previous hiking/camping trips, I thought I was prepared for the amazing beauty and fragility of the Canyon. No. Like most things I love, it was dangerous and delicious, and tromped through by some of the most environmentally illiterate humans, I have encountered. The plan is to channel access to the GC, but I would heartily recommend closing off the entire canyon to all humans forever, unless they are willing to carry only a water bottle and a diary. I loved making this video, and I hope that everyone who intends to spend time in the Canyon watches it BEFORE you go. Leave beauty behind you as you leave.

Hiking Yosemite Creek Trail to Yosemite Fall ASIN: B00004SC1U
Customer's Rating: 1 Summary: Too much water, not much Yosemite!
Comments: Misleading description. There's not much of Yosemite here at all unless you count the shots of rushing water that takes up 95% of this video. It could be any river any where as there is scarce coverage of any trail or surrounding environs. A big dissappointment.

Trailside: Jungle Hiking in Costa Rica ASIN: 6304270879
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: A video for wimps.
Comments: When I saw this title "Jungle Hiking in Costa Rica" and it's price, I expected it would be a ninety minute video showing different hiking areas in Costa Rica. Instead it was a goofy little romp about walking through jungle for the complete idiot. There was nothing exciting and no real information for anyone who has spent any time in the jungle. It also had no spectacular photography. It's one good point was that it did make me drool in my tapioca about my coming trip to that country. I wouldn't recommend this video to anyone but senior citizens or preschoolers. PURA VIDA COSTA RICA!

Trailside: Thru Hiking the Appalachian Trail ASIN: 6304270968
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Well done documentary of various thru-hikers.
Comments: As a person contemplating a thruhike on the Appalachian trail I really enjoyed this video. It show things like the emotional challange that can often be overlooked when preparing for the trail, and it also changed my stereotypical image of what type of person can complete the trail.

Anyplace Wild: Jungle Hiking in Belize ASIN: B00000FBLC
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: One Man's Story!
Comments: This tape is a nice reprint of two PBS airings on Backpacking. It is an entertaining account of one man's hiking experience in this beautiful country. My only complaint is that it falls short on information. I was expecting a guide to hiking in Belize, which would include 'what to bring', 'equipment you should have', etc. There is little content on the flora and fauna...except Killer Bees and Ticks and some casual shots of a few birds and snakes. Overall it was enjoyable, but not informative.

Trailside: Desert Hiking in Big Bend, Texas ASIN: 6304270860
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: desert hiking review
Comments: This was an interesting video of Big Bend as it focused on hiking one of the less traveled trails. The video involves two hikers on a overnight trip into the Chisos Mountains to Blue Creek and down to the Ross Maxwell Drive. A good, short and entertaining video that explains how to enjoy and survive the Big Bend environment.
