The Complete Book of Incense, Oils and Brews ASIN: 0875421288
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A must-have reference book!
Comments: This is one of my favorite books by Scott Cunningham. He explores so many different methods of magickal creation that there is something for everyone and more. If you want to learn more about making your own incense, brews, potions, powders, inks, soaps, tinctures, oils, herbal baths, etc., YOU MUST BUY THIS BOOK. Each section is informative and full of recipies, explanations, suggestions, and warnings. The chapter on substitution is excellent and the charts and appendixes are helpful as well. The book's tone is more instructional rather than spiritual, especially compared to Cunningham's other books. If you are looking for in-depth information about magical herbs and oils, I highly recommend reading Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs and The Magic of Aromatherapy in addition to The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, and Brews.

Magick Potions: How to Prepare and Use Homemade Incense, Oils, Aphordisacs, and Much More ASIN: 0806519827
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: This one is interesting.
Comments: This is a great book on potion making. But be careful all because something is natural does not mean it cant make you sick. Like Cats claw is not good for a pregnant woman to drink. She does not put these warning on her book. Regardless of the reader not being warned it is a great book. O love the mandrake section and I have incorporated some of her potions in my spells. The Mandrake potion for revenge is a good one. Im glad this book is not a wishy washy goodie two shoe book. She has postive uses for her potions as well most of these potions are for positive purposes. By the way if your back is against the wall and you need to use a spell to get someone away from you I dont see that as negative I see that as survival. Anyway this is a great book to get wheatehr you are a Witch, Santarian, Shaman or whatever your magickal/spiritual path is this book is of use.

The Book of Incense: Enjoying the Traditional Art of Japanese Scents ASIN: 4770023898
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: An excellent resource for Japanese incense lovers
Comments: After using incense for many years I found Japanese incense is the best among all. They only use herbs, spice and wood without any sythetic materials. The scents are very subtle and pleasing. This book takes you through the history of Japanese incense. Your find that the most comment joss stick incense only has one houndred year history. Before then, Japanese burn woodchips, kneaded incense and granulated incense. From this, the book of incense takes you to a wonderful world of koh-do, incense ceremony. Maybe you have heard of tea ceremony before. Incense ceremony is even more poetic, elegant and fun. This book explain how the ceremony is set up with pictures of beautiful utensils and instruments. If you are a incense lover and want to experience a higher level of enjoying incense, the book of incense is a must read.

Potpourri, Incense, and Other Fragrant Concoctions ASIN: 0911104976
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A good how-to book for making fragrant things.
Comments: This is about the only book on the market that I've been able to find on making aromatics that isn't just stuffed with useless "new age" tripe, especially on making incense. Incense is more than 5000 years old. Wicca and the literary works it is based on have been around at most 200 years. The use of incense in Christian services alone predates the wiccan use of it by at least 1800 years, yet every reference available bombards you with the nonsensical "modern" reinterpretation. Rubbish. The antiquity of incense is well established, and in all that time, the process for making it has changed little. If you are looking for a simple book on making incense, potpourri and other fragrant things, without all the odius drivel, this is the best I've been able to find to date.

Wylundt's Book of Incense ASIN: 0877288690
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A very good reference!
Comments: I have many herbals, and quite a few on incenses. Of all the ones I own, this has the most recipies, and the author does understand the ways in which to make different types of incenses for various situations. I would highly recommend it for those who want to experience a vast number of incenses.
