Jane Fonda: Step Aerobic and Abdominal Workout
ASIN: 6302872162

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Stellar step video for all levels
Comments: I taught aerobics for a few years and when I'm not in the gym, I step back to Jane Fonda's Step and Abs tape. If you paid attention in any step class, you know how to make a class more challenging for yourself. This tape considers the beginner through intermediate - you can augment the movements here to make it an advanced workout: highest height step, and arms above the heart, and hopping.
The instructors are interesting - even the students add to the interest - its the closest to feeling like I'm in a gym class of any tape I've used.
Also, its 1992 vintage makes it closer to the origins of the step craze - before the instructors tried to make step aerobics into a complex dance class.
Jane Fonda: Complete Workout

Summary: It's ALL HERE!
Comments: This is another oldie-but-goodie I recently re-bought. Wow, what a workout! And what terrific instructions for weight-lifting posture, aerobic techniques--the gamut. It's probably the most versatile tape I've seen or used, and I've gone with a batch of them. It's good for beginners (or for getting back to where you once were, if you've, uh, lapsed), yet it adapts to higher levels of fitness, too. Good sense of humor here, lots of fun, and you'll FEEL it! Excellent instructions for protecting your joints, too.
Jane Fonda: Workout Challenge
ASIN: B00000FCW0

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Best Jane Fonda Tape ever
Comments: I have collected a lot of exercise tapes through the years but this Jane Fonda Workout Challenge has stood the test of time. I still have my original copy that I purchased when I was eighteen and I am now thirty-nine. This is a definite must for any exercise library.
Jane Fonda: Lean Routine Workout
ASIN: 6302872227

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: Terrific Exercise Video
Comments: I grew up as a youngster exercising and dancing to this video. It is not hard to follow as you have low to high impact available. It also has some cool dance moves which are just great for older people who may wanna exercise and dance at the same time. You can learn some of the hip dance moves here. Jane does a good job at 52 years old at looking nice and dancing. I commend her for that. Buy this tape as well if you're into hip-hop dancing and/or choreography!
Jane Fonda: Yoga Exercise Workout
ASIN: 630299988X

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Great beginner tape.
Comments: This workout is excellent for the beginner, and the not terribly flexible. Alternate positions are shown and you can progress at your own rate. This is very important with any exercise program. I have not perspired with this one (I've had it two years) but if I neglect my workouts, it does make my muscles a bit sore. The instructions are easy to follow. After the first couple of times, you should be able to do the routine without looking at the screen. Jane even tells you when and how to breathe. This is a great plus because your breathing is very important in Yoga, or any other exercise. Overall, you can't go wrong with this one, no matter what your fitness level.
Jane Fonda: Low Impact Aerobics
ASIN: B000005Q4N

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: too corny
Comments: This video is composed of 6 mins. warm up, 35 mins. aerobics, and 10 mins. cool down.
Overall, I found this workout to be too corny. By reading the reviews, I thought I could get past it. I did a good job except when I got to the "hoe-down" part. You do this weird hobo looking move and you have to clap twice everytime with the music. I did the move, but didn't clap.
There was also this weird man who was purposely trying to be dorky. He was supposedly the "new" guy in class.
Anyway, I found the workout to be okay. I'm really out of shape so I was really sweating by the middle of the workout.
Maybe it's because I'm not really into aerobic workouts, but I only gave this video 3 stars because it recycled the moves alot. There was variation in the beginning, but the same moves get used later with a different song, and yet again with another different song.
Jane's cues were okay. I didn't get how to do some moves the first time, but pretty much knew them by the third time. However, sometimes she misses cues. For example, when you do the grapevine, she doesn't tell you whether to kick or heel everytime; instead, she just nods her head and smiles at you, as if you're supposed to just know.
Overall, I give this video a C+
Jane Fonda: Total Body Sculpting
ASIN: 6303675441

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: My absolute favorite workout video!
Comments: I bought Jane Fonda's Total Body Sculpting about a month ago. I had been going to the gym for over a year and didn't really see any results as far as getting more muscular. I thought I would give this workout at try.
I LOVE Total Body Sculpting! Since I am a guy, the only thing I do to make this video more difficult is use higher weights. After the first time I used this video, I was VERY sore the next couple days -- which let me konw that I was really working my muscles! Obviously during my year in the gym, I wasn't working the muscles as effectively as I do with Total Body Sculpting.
This video has two workouts, which Jane suggests that you do on alternate days. I do both of them the same day. Both workouts start with a two-minute warmup, which I find just enough. Then Jane takes you through a series of exercises using dumbbells. The first workout starts with lunges and squats, and believe me, you WILL feel them! (If you're a guy, just use heavier weights.) She works your biceps, tricep, back, legs, [rear], and abs. Ankle weights are also used for some of the exercises, and these exercises are my favorite part of the workout. Using the ankle weights, Jane takes you through leg lifts, which are really fun. She also does seated quad extensions, which you really feel!
One surprise in this workout is the pushups! Of course, Jane does "girl" pushups, so, being a guy, I just do regular "guy" pushups.
Jane is a GREAT teacher! She's very encouraging without being the least bit annoying or phony. The ONLY thing that could have been improved upon is that during some of the exercises Jane doesn't count out loud for you.
In conclusion, I LOVE this workout. I love working out with Jane and I feel that I am getting real results -- toned, firm body and a fun workout with Jane! I'm telling everyone I know about Total Body Sculpting!
Jane Fonda: Step and Stretch Workout

Summary: Its no Kari Anderson, but then, who is?
Comments: If you're a beginner, looking for some very simple step choreography - this is a video you should try. They have 3 impact options displayed during the video which includes "high impact", lower impact, and one lady modifies the moves for the floor. Most of the music isn't annoying, and they switch instructors throughout the entire set so you never get bored of just one person's style. Because I've been sick, I only used the single bench module this morning. This made the 40 minute aerobic section very easy to accomplish without much effort. If you are looking for a stronger workout, definitely add another bench module and use any of the suggested "advanced" moves like the left side of the room demonstrates. Being more of an intermediate stepper, I have to say the choreography was quite repetitive and too simple to keep me really challenged.Even so, I'd probably use this tape again when I was looking to give my mind a rest and just get some aerobic activity in my day.
Jane Fonda: Toning and Shaping
ASIN: 6302872170

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Sufficient workout with weights!
Comments: Jane Fonda's Toning and Shaping video is actually a 1987 workout previously called "Working out with Weights." The package was redesigned in 1993.
The trainer is Dan Isaccson. He and Jane repeatedly warn you that if you can't do this or that because of pain, choose an alternative or don't do it. There are sufficient "15 sec. breaks" in between the lifting of weights. Plus there is intermittent stretching, instead of waiting til the end to stretch.
The 85 minute video is structured in two segments, class I , 45- minute beginner intermediate and Class II, a 40 minute intermediate/advanced
A bench is needed. The pamphlet suggests a picnic bench, good idea! Ankle weights and dumbbells are also used. Displayed on the screen are the weight sizes they use. At times you will see one of the people working on the floor as opposed to being on a bench. Each time the trainer or Jane goes into a new exercise, they inform us which muscle you are working.
Focused here are hamstring curls, arm curls, lateral raises, triceps curl, pelvic thrusts, abdominal crunch. The armwork is similar to leg work, work on one arm, shift to the other, back and forth.
Class II focuses on about the same as Class I, but there are those dreaded lunges, squats, and pushups. It is easy to wind your tape to get to the 2nd part of the tape if you need. It is certainly a good workout tape...MzRizz

Summary: This video is so much fun!
Comments: This is such a fun video! The segments switch from one year to the next with a whole different look and attitude. It would be worth watching just to giggle at the clothes and hairstyles of Jane's exercise crew. Jane makes you feel like you're working out with a friend. Her segment on proper nutrition is very good also. This video does take a bit of coordination, though.
Jane Fonda: Lower Body Solution
ASIN: 6302872197

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: FUN!
Comments: When I 1st purchsed this video, I could never do more then 10 minutes at a time. But found the tape so fun that I kept trying. Sometimes, as a beginner, videos can be so complicated that its frustrating. I found that I was able to keep up the steps and movement - even if it was only for a short period of time. I now consider myself an intermediate and this tape is definitely one of my favorites! I am never bored! All of the instructors are great and really keep you moving! The toning section shows simple moves that are really effective. It is truely tough- I still need to take breaks.
Jane Fonda: Easy Going Workout
ASIN: 6301536940

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: fairly good
Comments: This workout is fairly good. There is a warm-up, aerobics, floor work, barre work, and exercises for your arms and waist.
Jane Fonda: Low Impact Aerobics and Stretch
ASIN: 630367545X

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: Funky for beginners!
Comments: Wow, the first time I did this one, I couldn't follow the steps at all! The instructors move too fast, and you will have problems coordinate your arms and legs in the right order!
First, thers's a 30 minute aerobic work-out, with lots of dance moves, at the end there's a 15 minute stretch routine with Jane, which is quite nice.
This video will make you sweat the first weeks, most because of the moves(hard to follow!). It's okay for beginners, but not for me- anymore!
Jane Fonda: Start Up
ASIN: 630287209X

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: EXHALE!
Comments: This is a good workout if you don't feel like jumping around on a certain day, or anything like that. The first time you do it, you'll find the arm work, or plee-a's a little frustrating, if you haven't done any of Jane's other vidoes, but as you do it more and more, you'll feel like you are acually apart of the class, because it'll get eaiser and eaiser.
If you do this workout with Jane Fonda's 'New' Workout, and you do both tapes for more than a week, you'll see definite results in weight loss! This is a nice, relaxing video that'll help you warmup or cool down.
Jane Fonda: Pregnancy Workout
ASIN: 6302872103

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: A very complete video for mothers to be
Comments: This is an excellent video for new mothers to be. I used it during my pregnancy and it was very encouraging. It starts with a warm-up and arm routine. Then it goes on to the middle, and lower body. It also has some special streaching routines and it has a part that practices the breathing for labor and relaxation. This is part that is the best. After you've had your baby it has some abdominal exercices with the baby near you (I noticed some exercices almost hit the babies)! Overall it was very helpfull and if you want to stay in shape during your pregnancy and practice relation and breathing you can get this video. The only thing is that the music was not very good and you have to listen to all the instruccions very carefully so you and your baby are safe. After having my baby I prefered other routines more ad-hoc.
Jane Fonda: Stress Reduction Program
ASIN: 6302872219

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: If I could have only one exercise video, this would be it!
Comments: I've owned and used this tape since it first came out in 1989. I've worn it out and am currently buying a replacement copy. I have many other exercise videos, but this is my favorite. The choreography is fun if you enjoy dancing to a light Latin/Bossa Nova and Cha Cha beat. The stretches are yoga based and extensive. This is one of those tapes where I always feel BETTER (relaxed, yet energized) after I have completed the routine. The music is soothing, the moves are smooth, the class is dressed in relaxing pastels, the instructions are clear, and the stretches are wonderful. It's an all around "Feel Good" way to exercise.
Jane Fonda: Pregnancy, Birth and Recovery Workout
ASIN: B000006G7S

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: never done it
Comments: I have never been pregnant before, so I have never done this video, but I have watched it. My mom has done it before and she didn't like it. It looks okay, but it is almost as if Jane Fonda thought that as long as there were not any aerobics and no ab work, it would be perfect for pregnant women. First there is a workout for pregnant womwn and women recovering from pregnancy. Then there is an extra floor workout for women recovering from a pregnancy. Then a women named Femmy DeLyser shows you birthing tips and at the end of the video there is a section on baby care.
Jane Fonda: Abs Buns and Thighs
ASIN: 6303675484

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Excellent tape to keep coming back to!
Comments: I have been using this tape for 5 years and haven't tired of it. I had gained 65 pounds while having a difficult pregnancy and lost all of my stomache muscles. This video was easy for me to start and kept me motivated. I ended up losing 70 pounds after doing this tape every day for the first 8 months after having the baby. I haven't gained any weight and now I do this video in addition to other fitness videos. It was great to have those simple moves so that I could really work hard rather than focusing on choreography. Also great that the segments are short. I could squeeze it in when my daughter was napping. Now , she does it with me! Definitely worth it to buy it. Results can be seen quickly!
Jane Fonda: Low Impact Aerobics
ASIN: 6302872189

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Low Impact Aerobics
Comments: I just bought this tape three weeks ago and have been "doing it" 3 days a week. I have lost 3 pounds by just increasing my aerobic activity, plus Jane Fonda's steps are fun! The music is great (I'm 48½ years old). If you don't mind the over-enthusiastic entourage of people working-out with her, plus a little comedic-refief in the form of a lost young man, you'll really enjoy this workout. I look forward to dancing with Jane, and plan to increase my workouts to 5 days a week.
Jane Fonda: Pregnancy, Birth and Recovery Workout

Light Aerobics and Stress Reduct
ASIN: B000006FF9

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Truly stress reducing!
Comments: This video is not only perfect for beginners, it is also for fit people that are very stressed. The music and clothing (they all wear pastel shades) are stress-free. The steps are not frustrating at all, which is most important. I love the workout for days I don't want to have to concentrate and still have a good time. It is short, only 20 minutes or slightly longer. Then is a 20 minute stretch which is alone worth keeping the video for if you've outgrown the aerobic section. After the stretch (which feels great on tense neck and shoulders) there is a voice relaxation section where you lay on the floor, and just listen to Jane. I never do that part, so I can't comment on it. If you like Jane Fonda workouts or ever feel the need to destress in 40 minutes, you've got to try this one!
