Kathy Smith's Kickboxing Workout
ASIN: 0738920525

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: Excellent workout for Beginner -Intermediate !
Comments: I have been working out with Billy Blanks videos for almost 4 months and was beginning to find the Basic version too slow but was not getting a safe and maximum workout from the Advanced. I was looking for a faster and well-coordinated routine and found it with Kathy Smith's video...Her program is very well coordinated from warm up to work out and the transitions to new punch/kick combinations are easy to follow and safe. I actually learned how to move better and safer with this video, even though I have been doing Tae-Bo for 4 months. Dance music is very upbeat and motivational ...my heart rate stayed up throughout the entire workout. I was disappointed in the last section where she engages the help of Kelli and Keith to lead some great but complicated combinations. These are great fat burning moves but don't get enough sets. By the time you master the combination, it's over. Still, highly recommended for beginner to intermediate levels.

Comments: This tape came out around the same time that the original tae bo tapes came out.
I bought this tape back then thinking it'd be a great kickboxing video (kickboxing being the new aerobis at the time, and not being able to afford the [price] the tae bo tapes were at the time), and i started doing it, but i couldn't even finish it; the problem is not that it isn't challenging enough, it can be hard if you work hard, but i mean it is how annoying this woman is!
she can't kick right, punch right, she can't do kickboxing, period!
This tape is divided into 2 20 minute workouts, the background is a boxing ring with a few back-up people who cant stop smiling...the first workout seems to be for beginners and the second is for more advanced people.
If you got the money, spend it on tae bo, you won't regret it; but if u dont want to spend much money on a tape or 2, buy this one, but just remember to kick the proper way to achieve maximum results!

I gave this tape 3 stars because it isn't so bad, i mean the workout itself, but lost stars because denise and the people in the video, who look very cheesy.
Knockout Workout: Kickboxing
ASIN: 6302937035

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: Good workout
Comments: This is the first video I bought when I started working out at home. After a couple of months, I got so sick of it, I had to get a couple of new ones, but I just recently went back to it. The other ones weren't as good of a workout, weren't as long, didn't have the good warm-ups, cool-downs and stretches, and had just as annoying music and instructors.
Now, I do what one other reviewer said, I just go faster than she does on the slow parts, and rewind to re-do the end section if I want to do a longer workout.
After using other videos, I suggest this one, especially for beginners, because of the excellent instructions and the graduated workout levels (it makes you feel like you are really gaining ground when you get through the whole tape.) And, I've lost 12 pounds!

Summary: Great workout and learning experiance!
Comments: I liked the video because it gives you an even total body workout. She doesn't do a gazillion moves on one leg then when your echausted move to the next. She does just enough to let you feel the burn then moves on. Then goes back again. So it keeps you going. You feel like you can do the workout. I don't dread the next time I workout because I think I'm going to do a gazillion in a row. So I look forward to the next time I pop the video in. She knows how to give you a great workout without killing you in the process. Moving from muscle group to muscle group and then coming back to it again, Is the way to go. I don''t feel like I'm just lifting my leg out of sheer exhaustion. I feel like I'm doing the techniques as best I can thru out the workout. The other thing I like is during the intro, she takes the time to explain and demonstrate each upper and lower body technique. So I know I can go back and review at my leisure. The GREATEST PART?? The self-defense demos thru out the video.. They are great to watch and it gives me purpose and comfort to know that while I'm working out I'm also putting myself thru a women's self defense seminar... Great Video! I think every women should one..

Rich Grogan: Kick to Get Fit
ASIN: B00000JQB4

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: A great exercise video for the family
Comments: My family and I have tried a wide variety of different exercise videos, but the problem we run into is there aren't many videos that we can do together as a family. We have tried Tae-Bo, and Knockout workout, mostly because of popularity, but no one in the family could do either one, the people in the videos just moved way too fast. Then we found Kick to Get Fit, and I am happy to say that this is now our family workout video. Rich Grogan show different ways of doing all the movements, so all of us can do the video at the same time. We have family exercise night 3 days a week. This is our way to spend family time together, and get some exercise in at the same time. My family and I really enjoy the time we are exercising together, and are enjoying even more the weight and inches we have lost. I have lost 15 pounds, and my pants and shirts seem to hang off of me, instead of sticking to my body. My wife has lost 22 pounds and 2 pants sizes, while my 3 daughters have all lost weight, and look alot healthier. I am very happy with the way our lives have changed, and I think that others would benefit from this video the way we have.

Summary: Don't waste your money on this boring video
Comments: I'm shocked by the positive reviews of this workout. For one thing, the video itself seems very low quality. The music and background are both bad. Also, the background people are unprofessional. They look like they're going to crack up every time the camera's on them--plus they don't seem like they're even trying.
I could overlook all that if the workout were good, but it's not. It's so BORING and not very challenging. For example, for about ten minutes all you do is right punch, left punch. I almost fell asleep on my feet. And there's another part with this weird arm choreography that is just so ineffective. It seems like it's just for show. This workout doesn't meet my definition of cardio at all.

Summary: 20 inches lost in 6 months
Comments: I bought this tape and on average 3-6 day a week and I lost 20lbs. and 20 inches in six months. It is low impact but you can also use weights for a higher impact workout. 30min. is ideal for someone who doesn't have a lot of time.Thank You Donna for a great workout and weightloss.
Introduction to Basic Techniqu
ASIN: B00000JGJI

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: Real kickboxing
Comments: 1) Read the previous review 2) I have the complete series of 3 videos. This is the introduction to Kickboxing and is essential for proper form. The second one is a serious *kickboxing* (not "Tae-Bo"/cardio-kick aerobics) workout. The final has great (excrutiating, but thorough) floor workout and cool-down.
I have had the pleasure of being one of Fairlie's students and her classes are great and never boring. She makes you work - HARD! The results are quick, after 2 months I lost 10 pounds!
The workouts are also addictive...hence my purchase. Now I can do this great workout whenever and where-ever I want.
The intro is a little slow, but if you venture forth to the second installment you will be greatful for the knowledgable instruction as proper form is essential.
Enjoy!
Knockout Workout - Kickboxing/Aerobic Boxing
ASIN: B00004TJFH

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: For kickboxing beginners
Comments: In the kickboxing half, Steele (alone in a boxing ring) presents three short routines designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced exercisers. She demonstrates four punches and two kicks, then mixes and matches them in various three- to five- step moves. These moves are repeated throughout the tape, at different speeds and intensities. Because I have kickboxing on three other videos, I thought this tape was a bit too basic. Steele does take the time to break down moves that many other instructors don't bother to explain, namely, the simple jab and other punches. The kicking part of the routine is less impressive, however. She only includes two kicks--the front and roundhouse--and doesn't explain how to execute them as clearly as the punches. The routine is very slow for the first half, so it's not the sort of tape you'll be doing over and over for months. Steele is a bit bland, but not annoying. The music, however, stinks. One logistical problem I encountered . . . Throughout most of the routines, Steele has you move first facing right, then facing left. Consequently, if your TV set is not in the center of the room, you're doing half the routine with your back entirely to the screen. Video instructors usually try to move you forward and backward, or side to side, facing front.
Mechelle's Way: Elite Cardio Kickboxing 2, Self Defense for Women
ASIN: B000068COO

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: STARTED out great, BUT...
Comments: The introducton about women's self-defense was definitely helpful and interesting, and I found Mechelle to be very credible and able as an instructor. However, the video had a low-production feel to it, despite the relatively high cost of the video. After the promising beginning, this became just another workout tape.
One, The Next Level in Cardio Kickboxing
ASIN: B000046RZ7

Customer's Rating: 3
Summary: easy listening kickboxing
Comments: I bought this video off amazon.com based on the 100% positive reviews. Well, it's a decent enough video but not what I expected. The workouts are short and not very strenuous compared to others like tae-bo, Kathy Smith, or Cardio Athletic Kickbox. The cheesy black-and-white flashes are distracting--why try to make an exercise video look like an artsy MTV drama production? And Brannon's voice sounds more conducive to hypnotism or New Age sermons --not saying it's bad, just a little weird in the context of a supposely vigorous workout. It definitely would not be for everyone. A good beginner's video for sure, but advanced exercisers won't find much beyond an "easy-day" workout here.
XKO Kickboxing with Larry Lam
ASIN: 0970110103

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: I LOVE THIS VIDEO !
Comments: I just found this XKO Kickboxing video after FIT MAGAZINE (April 2001) gave it a great review and I TOTALLY agree. Great music! Challenging workout! Very entertaining! If you've only tried Tae Bo...move on! You will not be disappointed!
Aaron Lankford's Power Kicks
ASIN: B00000J12E

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Power Kicks is for EVERYONE
Comments: Aaron Lankford has taken his personal martial arts experience and placed it all in his videos. While Tae Bo will give you a nice aerobic workout, Power Kicks will teach you the basics of kickboxing and give you the confidence of Aaron's own black belt in Tae Kwon Do. It will work, tone and build your aerobic and strength training workouts, and take you to a whole new level. I have been using Aaron Lankford's tapes as well as working in his dojo for the last two years. I now hoave more strength, more tone, and more confidence then ever. Anyone who is looking for the best in kickboxing and aerobic workouts should buy this video.
Dawei Cardio Kickboxing
ASIN: 0967425603

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: intense, lean and mean
Comments: I do enjoy taebo and other videos featuring charismatic talkative instructors, but this one is good for just getting into a serious hard workout. I like the somewhat longer combinations of moves--it provides a harder workout in a shorter period of time. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned it being sorta like a Mortal Kombat atmosphere...LOL...but that can be motivating. Dewey's presence can put you into the workout mood without him saying anything. The music isn't bad as far as cardio kickboxing videos go (ok that's not saying much). I like that there is a video for advanced folks only and it really makes you work in a short period of time.
Aerobic Kickboxing Workout
ASIN: B00000I1ND

Customer's Rating: 1
Summary: Disappointed
Comments: I was very disappointed in this video. I have been taking kickboxing at our local fitness center so I already know the moves, but this video did not work me out at all. It was filmed in poor quality so it is hard to see and hear. The moves didn't seem to flow either. I wouldn't recommend this tape to anyone.
