Mark Blanchard's The Power Within: Ultimate Power Yoga ASIN: B00000F0M6
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Amazing!
Comments: Well, all I can say is that this is TRUE power yoga. For those of you who are so critical of Mark's voice, if you were really doing this video, you wouldn't notice his voice. You'd be in the "Yoga Zone." I've been practicing yoga for 2 years and power yoga for one year. I have many power yoga videos and this one is truly power yoga. The results I have seen are amazing. It builds strength and stamina in a short time and you see the changes in your body fairly quickly. I used to work out with weights and do aerobics. You don't need any of that if you practice with this video. You are dripping sweat and working and stretching every part of your body. When you are done a sense of calmness comes over you that you could never get at the gym. If you've been practicing yoga for a while, try this video.

Embracing Power Yoga ASIN: B00003JRAP
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Power Yoga to the extreme
Comments: I have tried out other Power Yoga tapes that have ended up being very easy and very boring. This tape is entirely different. Mark Blanchard has you trying out positions that push your body to the extreme. You feel stronger and more flexible after only one viewing. I have been using this video for a little over a month and my flexibility has already improved drastically. I have also built up a lot of upper and lower body strength. I also happen to like listening to his voice. He speaks in a calming tone that helps you to really get into the Yoga "ZONE". I especially like doing the tape in the mornings because I feel more at peace with myself the rest of the day. For someone who wants a real challenge and wants to be able to push their body to the extreme while feeling a general feeling of calmness this is the video for you.

Power Yoga for Couples and Mixed ASIN: 6305194572
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Good, challenging yoga. Partner not required.
Comments: This is a good challenging yoga video. It may be to difficult for beginners. Mark Blanchard and a woman partner work through the routine. They occasionally demonstrate how partners can assist and adjust each other in some poses. My partner is physically fit and has had some exposure to yoga, yet felt that the tape might be too difficult for beginners. Fortunately, it is not necessary to have a partner with you to do this workout or to enjoy this video. The scene is simple--a typical yoga room with wooden floors, two mats, some wooden shelves with burning candles. The music is soft and Blanchard's tone is gentle. Blanchard's opening comments briefly mention the benefits of yoga for a relationship. Overall, a good video.

Mark Blanchard's The Power Within: Ultimate Power Yoga ASIN: 6305194599
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Well worth the effort for at home yoga students
Comments: I bought this tape after a mini-article in the Sunday New York Times. I do the Yoga Journal tapes and Byran Kest's, love them, and wanted to add to my practice. Mark Blanchard's tapes are different -- they seem to be actual classes, with less rehearsing by the participants. The students are of various abilities -- which is nice to see and Mark is very encouraging to all of them. Also, he himself occasionally falls or has trouble with a pose, and I find this very refreshing for its emphasis on the on-going challenges that yoga practice presents to all students. On the negative side, the tapes are very long -- so be prepared. You'll sweat and be exhausted afterwards. I don't think that Mark explains the poses as well as he could. If you don't know how to do something, you probably will not learn it from him except by imitation. When poses are difficult, there are plenty of options presented by the various students, many of whom are clearly beginners. In short, there is something for everyone in Mark's tapes -- especially lots of work! A nice addition to a yoga video tape collection.
