Comments: Complete Garden Planner is an excellent resource for gardeners who need design inspiration. Most gardeners come to desgin backwards, meaning that they start planting things they fall in love with only to find thay have created an incoherent mess! I know because I've been there. This book is an excellent guide down the garden design path. It will help you bring order to your yard or jungle and create something truly worthy of the word "garden."

Comments: I was very disappointed in this book. What the book shows you is 25 decks that, yes you can build, but what it dosn't tell you is that you have to order the plans at an additional cost! So what your really paying for in this book, is 25 pictures of decks. Yaaa.

Planned Giving Simplified : The Gift, The Giver, and the Gift Planner
ASIN: 047116674X

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: Planned Giving 101
Comments: This is an excellent primer on planned giving. The author provides definitions and examples of many useful terms in an easy-to-read format. The examples clarify the different options available and the benefits of each. The emphasis on planned giving as a GIFT to charitable institutions is refreshing in a field that talks often of tax advantages. Mr. Sharpe highlights the human side of planned giving, noting the importance of establishing a relationship with donors, and acknowledging gifts.
As a former life insurance salesperson, the author is somewhat biased in favor of life insurance products, However, he does provide numerous illustrations of all types and realistic scenarios, as well as a wealth of experience.
The format is clear, and topics are covered well and methodically. Mr. Sharpe's organization of subjects makes this an ideal primer - think of it as a textbook for Planned Giving 101. This is a good source for the professional or organization just starting to consider planned giving, and a wonderful reference for those with more experience.

The Complete Eldercare Planner: Where to Start, Which Questions to Ask, and How to Find Help
ASIN: 0812932781

Customer's Rating: 5
Summary: When you plan you have choices
Comments: This is a book based on the principles of good planning and that it is better to be proactive than reactive. "When I plan, I have choices," the author states. And she gives the reader voluminous choices.
This is a book filled with forms and action steps, low-cost and free resources and explanatory narrative. It will get you to where you need to be to be an effective care planner and caregiver.
Topics include where to start, how to tell when your elder needs help, emergency preparedness, financial and legal matters, housing, long-distance caregiving, transportation, medical concerns, death and dying, and resources.
This is a highly accessible and well thought-out workbook. For example, the author has taken the highly complex issue of "Money Matters" and divided it into workable plans. The first deals with the business side of cargiving and lists the things you need to calculate expenses; part two helps you to figure out if you can afford elder care; and the third describes who pays for what. The fourth plan is asking for help with time and money, listing the kinds of resources you might need help with (home maintenance, cooking, exercise, heavy lifting).
The chapter then goes on to plans for helping your loved one plan for financial fitness, with workbook forms for determining his or her current financial state (medical costs, income, expenses, insurance policies, travel costs, and financial advisors).
With this material laid out so clearly, the tasks of caregiving do not feel so foreboding. This book takes the fear out of the unknown and makes caregiving manageable from the start.
The "Documents Locator" at the end -- the whole list of legal, personal, medical documents you might need -- is worth the price of admission alone.

The Healthy Baby Meal Planner
ASIN: 0671750194

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: easy and fun recipes as well as info on infant nutrition
Comments: This book makes cooking baby food very easy! I buy a few organic vegetables every week, boil them, puree and presto! Healthy, nutritious baby food that my baby loves. Some of the recipes are a bit strange, (i.e. zucchini and bananas), but if the baby likes it, so be it. My only complaint is that some of the menus seem to rush the baby into new foods too quickly. My recommendation is that you only give your baby one new food at a time for at least three days. Because my husband and I did this, we were able to discern that she was very allergic to pears.
Pregnancy Week-By-Week: Everything You Need to Know About Yourself and Your Developing Baby: Plus Essential Weekly Planner
ASIN: 0062734830

Customer's Rating: 4
Summary: I really liked the calendar aspect of the book.
Comments: This is a great book for people who like to keep track of their pregnancy one day at a time, like me. Books like "What to Expect When You're Expecting" are set up in a month-by-month format, but I am one who likes to keep tabs of things in smaller increments than that. Highly recommend!
The Kitchen Planner: Hundreds of Great Ideas for Your New Kitchen

The Bathroom Planner: Hundreds of Great Ideas for Your New Bathroom
ASIN: 0811831167

Customer's Rating: 2
Summary: A Real Disappointment
Comments: I had high hopes for this book as a resource in redesigning the bathroom in my newly-acquired house. Alas, for anyone who's had anything to do with bathroom remodelling, this book is way more cute than it is substantive.
It's got cute little split pages so you can play bathroom dress-up and determine your style. They're fun, but they don't give you much of an idea of anything, really. More of a kid's game than a design aide.
It's also got cute little press-out baths and sinks and loos that you can stick on squared paper so you can allegedly develop alternative layouts. The problem is, the cute little press-outs are far from comprehensive, and lack images of smaller-than-average tubs, or petite toilets or corner sinks. The text mentions items like soaking tubs and specialty sinks that aren't included in the stick-on figures
