An Introduction to 6-Count Swing ASIN: B00000K1VZ
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Lets Swing Baby!
Comments: I have always wanted to learn to swing-dance, and I never thought I would actually be able to pull it off...but this tape was really great! Me and my partner were able to master the whole tape within 2 days of practicing, and now Im ready for intermediate! I thought it would be hard to learn because you have to rely on the signals and touches your partner gives you. I thought, oh great, I won't be able to know whats coming next. But after buying and watching this tape, you just learn the motions and touches, and eventually it becomes natural. I compare it to learning how to drive a stick-shift car. At first it seems hard, but eventually you just do it and dont even think about it.

The Ultimate West Coast Swing Reference Video ASIN: B00004YZO4
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: Disappointing, not as good as expected.
Comments: The teacher do not demonstrate West Coast Swing dance with clear distinct movements and style. They merely walk through the steps without any rhythm and techniques. You would not enjoy dancing West Coast Swing from the way you are taught on the tape.

Learn to Swing Dance ASIN: 0967101123
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: This Tape Made Me Into A Good East Coast Swing Dancer
Comments: Well, these tapes and a lot of practice with an instructo"> No, these tapes don't start with the most basic of the basic essentials, but that is what almost every other tape starts with. Why do you need it again? Or, better yet, take a dance class to cover that anyway. Neither this set nor any other tape can make you into a good dancer all by itself"> This tape is all East Coast Swing. It isn't Lindy Hop or West Coast Swing. East Coast is great for the beginning swing dancer because there is a basic step that can fill the gaps until the lead makes his next decision about how to interpret the musi"> What this tape does exceptionally well is to teach the basic and intermediate moves in a clear and easy-to-follow manne"> In terms of value for the money, this is the best tape I own. And I have bought a dozen swing dance tapes in the last year"> There are some really cool steps on these tapes that even my dance instructor hadn't seen before. She appreciated learning them along with m"> This tape set is a must if you are intersted in East Coast swing dancing. By the time you can dance all of these steps, your brain and your feet will be communicating so well that moving on to other more challenging dances will come much easier. But make no mistake about it, once you can dance all of these steps, you will be able to go out and WOW the crowds at most night clubs, and have a ton of fun at the same time. And it will work with almost any 4/4 beat music, whether Rock, Country, or Jazz.

Intermediate 6-Count Swing ASIN: B00004Y7SN
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Excellent Instructional Video
Comments: I have taken lessons, taught lessons, and watched many videos on swing dancing and this series is the best. Intermediate 6-Count Swing introduces the triple step variation of the dance and adds many more moves to your list. Chris and Julie are excellent dance instructers and use excellent methodology to teach beginners how to dance. I would recommend viewing Beginning Lindy Hop (even if you already know a lot about swing dancing) befor using this one.

Everybody Dances Swing! - Advanced Patterns and Really Cool Moves for Lindy, West Coast and Carolina Shag ASIN: B00004UCXI

World of Swing #3 - Footwork Fast and Fancy ASIN: B00005KI44
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Cool Moves
Comments: The video is of good quality with ample lighting and sound. The footwork is advanced and better suited to an intermediate or advanced level of dance. The steps are fast and flashy. The movements are presented from different angles which enhanced my comprehension. Anyone mastering these movements will definitely be a stand-out on the dance floor. I find Marcus Koch to be an excellent instructor who demonstrates complicated moves in an uncomplicated way. The steps are danced, broken down in sequences, then danced to music. I am an intermediate-level swing dancer and find this method very helpful. For anyone seeking some cool, non-aerial swing steps, this is the video. I own three WOS tapes and this is the one that has impressed me the most.

World of Swing #5 - How To Jitterbug ASIN: B00005KI46
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: This isn't Jitterbug
Comments: I bought this tape because I wanted to learn more about East Coast Swing/Jitterbug, what I got was a beginning Lindy Hop tape called How to Jitterbug. If you're looking to get started with swing dancing, then it's a good tape, but if you're looking specifically for Jitterbug, then look elsewhere.

World of Swing #6 - From Partner Charleston to Lindy Charleston ASIN: B00005KI47
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: World of Swing #6 From Partner Charlston to Lindy Charlston
Comments: I really enjoyed this tape. I practiced the moves taught in the tape at home, they were very easy to follow and understand. Then I put them into my dance and they looked very stylish.

A Swingin' package, Learn to swing dance video + Zoot CD featured in the video ASIN: 0967101190
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Not Quiet What Was Promised, But Still Good
Comments: This video claims to be an introductions, but would be better suited for intermediate dancers. It lacks the basic instructions on leading/following, footwork, and many basic moves (I would recommend trying Beginning/Intermediate 6-Count Swing for this). However this video set has at least 20 moves that I have not seen on any other instructional video, which makes it a keeper. Most of the moves are advanced 6-count patterns, but it also touches on some Lindy hop moves. This video will make you better.

You Can Dance - Swing ASIN: 0769720676
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: It's good... if all you wanna learn in 3 steps!
Comments: They teach you the basic triple step, followed by the Open loop, and one underarm turn... THAT IS IT! Definitely beginner's stuff... definitely something I dont wanna buy (I rented it from the public library) I've ordered the Chris Reilly and Ginger Swing Video. Hopefully that will show me a lot more steps at an intermediate level!

World of Swing #1 - 40's Hollywood Style ASIN: B00005KI42
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: A Great Set of Dance Moves
Comments: This video seems short (40 min) (but most of the other tapes in the series go for longer), but it is packed with excellent dance routines. As far as instructional videos goes I would consider this one fair to average. It start of with the basics of leading and following, but quickly leads into more advanced patterns that might be a bit much for a beginning dancer. Marcus and Barbl are excellent dances and provide the tape with some interesting moves that I haven't seen on other instructional videos. The move list is: triple-lindy basic, the send out, the pass through, the whip, the whip with a free spin, the quick stop, switches, the rhythm turn, dean kicks, the sugar push, the sling shot, and the slide. I would recommend that you try another video of you are a beginner (perhaps Big City Swing). but once you get the basics down this video is amazing. As a bonus this video is full of live footage from swing dance competitions. As a swing dance teacher, I love this one.

Invitation to Dance - Swing Dancing ASIN: B00005NC5Z
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Cheep, But You Get What You Pay For
Comments: This is far from the best dance video I have bought. Kyle Webb tries to do too much, and yet accomplishes little. The video tries to teach three styles of swing dance (Jitter Bug, East and West Coast), and does a fair job introducing each. But the video lacked any true depth and so moves were repeated between two styles so the students learn even less. This video covers about as much material as a 30 minute introductory class that you can take before almost any dance. There are better videos from amazon.
