Comments: These workouts are not for those "No Pain, No Gain" people. I love them because, as out of shape as I was, I could do a workout and not be sore the next day. Yet, I definitely saw results after a week. That's because I was able to stick with it. It didn't take a lot of time, and I felt good afterward. It seemed to give me an energy boost. Watching the clock count down during the workout was a real motivator, too. I also love that the tape has two different workouts, so when you no longer find a single workout challenging, you can do them back-to-back for a new level of challenge.

Summary: Good Workout!
Comments: This is my first Kathy Smith video, and I am impressed. The very first time I used this video, I found it very easy to learn. I didn't get lost once, which is unusual for the first runthrough of a workout. The moves she uses are basic and her instruction is good. Even though the steps were easy to learn, this was not an easy workout to do. It was definately sweat inducing and challenging! It is intense! However, she divided it into sections so people who can't do the whole thing yet can just fastforward to the next section. Her personality is not irritating either. She encourages us to go on, but doesn't patrinize or deliver fake, overly-enthusiastic, rehearsed compliments. She is just straightforward. The only bad things about the video are related to its age. The music and outfits were very early 90's! But this workout is so good that the age can be easily overlooked.

Comments: I bought this video as an alternative to the wonderful "Standing Legs" This one is just not so tough, but I would suggest it to those just beginning a fitness program as a way to strengthen your lower half before getting serious with "standing legs" You will find that this video concentrates on your body from the waist down, which for most women is THE problem area. Combined with a healthy diet and cardio sessions, this one will be effective for you. However, if you are an advanced exerciser looking for a lower body challenge, get you some big old ankle weights and give this one a go!

Comments: I have been searching for a workout for so long now that would help me tone my legs without adding so much mass...well this video definitly toned my legs, adding 2 inches to my thighs..I cant fit in my jeans now! The aerobic part of it is a lot of confusing jumping around. I tried it twice, and now I just do the toning part...I combine this video with quick callanetics hips/behind...I must say the toning part is actually 'fun', and I enjoyed it...but i want a leaner look. I have been dieting also, so its not like ive been pigging out and wandering why the hell i got bigger thighs...If you are serious about losing weight, and creating a leaner look, TRY Body Flex by Greer Childs...I lost 40 lbs over the course of 3 -4 months doing this...Now im down to a weight that my body enjoys...but i do not...I still want to lose.

It is really good if you just have 15-20 minutes in the morning/evening and you want to do something to get your energy up-or you just want to work out. J. Comments: Unlike most of the other reviews, I got no results from repeatedly doing this video. I was doing it at least 3x week alternating with 30 min. aerobics daily and saw no change in my thighs/hips. I've tried several videos for my lower body as that's my problem spot but to no avail. I'm not overweight but would like to tone up my rear and thighs. This tape wasn't the answer for me. I don't mind Denise's enthusiasm. She tries to make you feel good just for exercising (and you should). If anyone has a tape that will work, let me know...

Comments: This is among my top three favorite Firm tapes. I know some have indicated that they don't like the instructor LaReine, but I have no problem with her. She's very calm and gives clear instructions. If you want a great lower body workout, this tape will definitely give it to you and in less than an hour a session.
My other top favorites include The Firm Total Body Low Impact Aerobics tape (number 1 in my book). Janet Jones Gretzky, makes it enjoyable, yet challenging at the same time and you work up a serious sweat.But don't be fooled by the notion that this is a "low impact" tape. IT IS NOT!
Number 2 -- in fact, almost in a tie for first place on my list -- is the first Firm tape ever starring Susan Harris. You'll barely remember your name when you're done 65 minutes later . But your body will look -- and feel -- great.

Comments: I have been using this tape for 5 years and haven't tired of it. I had gained 65 pounds while having a difficult pregnancy and lost all of my stomache muscles. This video was easy for me to start and kept me motivated. I ended up losing 70 pounds after doing this tape every day for the first 8 months after having the baby. I haven't gained any weight and now I do this video in addition to other fitness videos. It was great to have those simple moves so that I could really work hard rather than focusing on choreography. Also great that the segments are short. I could squeeze it in when my daughter was napping. Now , she does it with me! Definitely worth it to buy it. Results can be seen quickly!

Comments: This video had a beautiful set and everything, but in truth the content was neither good belldance instruction, nor was it fitness. As a fitness junkie, I noticed some of the exercises and stretches were performed incorrectly. I think the girls were hired for their look, which makes this a nice video to watch but not a workout to actually do or learn from.

Comments: This video was great. I used to do it with a friend in high school and now years later I purchased a used copy from Amazon and still love it. Yes, Tony is a bit annoying but I think that makes me work even harder. I have already noticed results from this video. Comments: With all due respect to Terri's review below, I have a question: Were we watching the same video?
I consider myself to be an intermediate exerciser, having worked out on a regular basis for about 5 years. I'd been thinking about getting a lower body only tape; I finally chose this because I also have Cory's Get Hard Arms and Shoulders (excellent) and Kardio Kick (a decent kickboxing tape for beginners or a light cardio day for intermediate/advanced exercisers), and I like her style.
As others have noted, Cory includes gym machines in this tape, but she concentrates (and is front and center) teaching the home version. This is NOT a gym only workout (if it were, I wouldn't have hesitated to return it). Since she does the reps slowly, you can use as heavy weights as you want. (Beginners may want to learn proper form first before using this tape since she only gives a few form pointers.) She really works the quadriceps, calves, and hamstrings well, and even throws in some abs work at the end (basic crunches). Note that you may want to use ankle weights for some of the exercises, and the calf step ups require a step.
Another exercise she does is called a Good Morning. Although I'd heard of it, I'd never done this one before; it works the lower back. I'd caution anyone who hasn't done this before to do it the first couple of times without weights (Cory pretty much says the same thing). The first time I did it, I felt a little tug down there, so I immediately got rid of the weights. Anyone with back problems should probably just skip this exercise.
A couple of not so good things: 1. No warm up (she *does* stretch between sets) and 2. She has you putting on and taking off ankle weights instead of doing all the ankle weighted exercises together. The warm up you can do on your own, so that was no big deal. As for No. 2, it irritated me at first, but I've since gotten used to it.

Summary: good for spot toning
Comments: This tape has 3 different workouts.
The first one is the one I actually use, it is pretty challenging and is great for spot conditioning; it covers the outer thighs, inner thighs and back of thighs.
The second and third workouts need a chair and a step respectively, and i really dont like the chair one (to hold balance) because it really hurts your knees! and the step one is just unconfortable sitting on it.
One thing i really don't like is the cheesy atmosphere and music; and tamilee's outfit is very scary, and they are always focusing on her butt, but she talks to you in a very friendly way, which gives it positive points, and you dont really feel like just turning it off like other trainers.

Comments: I bought this video along with the Arms, Buns and ABS videos...I mixed them up but did 2 sections from 2 videos every day...results: My thighs had definition...first time ever! I was following a weight loss program as well and the videos helped my weight loss (30 lbs) I never hit a plataeu. I was not in good shape starting out and you'll be sore for a day or 2 after you start, but this video works and is worth every penny.

Summary: LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
Comments: I've been using this tape now for about four months. Incredibly, I've gone from tight size 12 jeans to loose size 8 jeans without losing one pound! It's amazing how much tighter and smaller I am, and I owe it all to this tape. Some of the tape uses ankle weights and dumbells, which you can keep increasing in weight so the tape never gets too easy. I use the tape three or four times a week. If you buy this tape, make sure that you send away for the free tape that "The Firm" provides- "20 questions on fitness"- it's very informative.
