Comments: This is one of the easiest books to learn typing from. Im a writer and I got tired of paying other people to type up my manuscripts for me at high prices. So I took matters into my own hands and looked around for a good typing book. There were several good ones among many, but this book has everything. It shows you how to sit properly, how to use all the keys on the board and not just the alphabet. The book is divided into lessons and I find this very helpful. What surprised me the most is how fast I learned how to type. It was amazing! Before I started this book, I had to look over all the board for a letter to type a simple sentence. After only 3 or 4 days of practice at about 3 hours a day, I began to notice greater coordination of my fingers and I was typing. Not fast, it was still slow, but what an improvement for a beginner. The book also has alphabetical sentences to increase your typing speed. These sentences contain every word in the alphabet. Not only did I learn how to type, but the success in mastering the keyboard, gave me the desire to continue working and I just breezed through the course. This is a classic typing book.

Summary: Best for intermediate typists and above
Comments: This product is confusing for beginners as it doesn't adequately teach where to place fingers. It shows colored keys matched to colored fingers, however, children (or adults)
need to look in two different places to match colors...not an easy feat! Our family members who are already atleast intermediate typists found it fun to play as a way to work on speed and accuracy.

Summary: A great way to increase typing speed!
Comments: I teach typing at a middle school and we recently started using this program. My students and I found it to be a great change from the standard drills we were using. They loved the way the programs made them practice the keys that gave them the most trouble and the fact that, in the individualized practices, the program would push them to try typing a little faster in the repetitions. I liked it so much, I bought a copy for my machine at home. My whole family is working with it to increase their typing skills. I highly recommend this program.

Comments: I have never taken a typing class, so when I needed to learn how to type , I turned to several popular software programs. Although, I found these products helpful, I was not able to progress beyond a certain point until I purchased Cortez Peters' Championship Keyboarding drills. Once I started Cortez Peters'
I showed immediate improvement in my accuracy and to a lesser extent my speed. I found it clearly more effective than any software program available.

Comments: This classic text provides a quick method for learning to type for speed and accuracy. (I recommend it for Grades 6 and up)
It is divided into brief step-by-step lessons beginning with the home keys "a s d f j k l ;" and ending with speed and accuracy tests on full text transcriptions.
When I was in high school, I used this book to learn how to type during February school vacation. I did a three lessons a day, 30 mins each morning, afternoon, and evening. In one week, I went from 0 to 35-55 words per minute.
The result of the easy instructions and simple drill and practice lessons was a skill which has served me well ever since.
Highly recommended.
