Summary: These Cards Are Sufficiently Beautiful Alone for 5 Stars
Comments: I got this deck of oracle cards and book set from my husband last year at Yule. I love it very much for the exquiste beauty of the cards even though I have to roll my eyes at the extreme New Age claims that are associated with it. The 64 different cards each have a colorful geometric image supposedly acting as a "consciousness lens" that focuses light and subtle energy as vibrations. Got that? The cards contain "seed-forms" that when brought into the consciousness can be used for spiritual healing. Okay. Each card has two words of text that are intended to assist in opening us to the Love-Light, one is a basic meaning or "Old Earth" keyword while the other is a complementarity (is that a word?), a New Earth heightening toward the Love-Light. I want to point out that I realize that there are people out there who will be able to use this book and these lovely cards to meditate and to heal their traumatized cellular memory and to grow ever closer to Love-Light. Just because that sounds like nonsense to me doesn't mean that the virtues this set promises to possess are not true. It just means it hasn't manifested for me. I really think that if you seriously take time with this set you will gain new understanding of your inner self and of the Universe. Each card has a corresponding affirmation and explaination in the book and nothing but positive can come from the contemplation of these symbols and insights. I admit that I do not use this book or these cards for their intended purpose. I just look at the cards quietly and allow their beautiful colors and designs and vibrations to wash over me. I do find them relaxing and healing but I don't pursue them intellectually in any way. I don't care about the book but you might. I do recommend this set to you and I know you will enjoy it.

Comments: When you were a child and fell and hurt yourself, do you recall your first instinct was to press your hand over the hurt and hold it? Or maybe you remember sounds, colors, or smells that comforted you when you were sick. Ted Andrews uses the example of the hand held hurt to demonstate to the reader of THE HEALER'S MANUAL that many of his techniques are instinctual. Unfortunately, as we grow older we may tend to forget these simple truths or stop beliving in them as effective remedies.
Andrews divides his book into sections, each dealing with therapies that affect the five senses. My favorites are smell, sound, and sight. I've known for a long time certain scents like Lavendar and Eucalyptus are healing, and that certain kinds of music can lower my blood pressure. I'm also affected by color..yellow can perk me up and blue calms me down.
Andrews discusses many techniques I know will work because I've tried them, and others I sense will work that I have not yet tried. I have doubts about some like healing elixers from gems, but I keep an open mind and a positive outlook. Like the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, I believe in at least six impossible things before breakfast. It's amazing how many of them come true by dinnertime.

Comments: It's a well written book, but so it should be, based on all the information that is taken from Dinshahs'initial work on light therapy over 50 years ago. You can get copies of Dinshahs' material "cheap" from their website... Dinshahs' work was well ahead of its time. It's too bad certain organizations are"still" threatened by his work even though it was an array of doctors who had written most of the original testimonials backing up his work. "Color Medicine" is mostly Dinshahs' work with some good added info. on the healing powers of sound. It's nice to know a modern book acknowledges Dinshahs' work as opposed to many other "Color" books that don't.

Comments: Vibrational Medicine: New Choices For Healing Ourselves is an updated edition of the book first published by Dr. Richard Gerber in 1988. Gerber is a practicing doctor who sought less invasive means than drugs and surgery for helping his patients, especially those with chronic illnesses. His book is the result of more than twenty years of research into alternative medical treatments.
Dr. Gerber describes his book as "an introduction to a new system of thinking about health and illness in general." He believes people are complex energy systems. Vibrational medicine includes all forms of medical treatment, such as homeopathy, that can affect human energy fields.
His book does not list various diseases or suggest remedies to heal those diseases. Instead, he discusses how energy functions, and how the vibrational remedies work to restore imbalances in human energy systems. He includes study after study showing the healing affects of homeopathy, flower essences, gem elixirs, and therapeutic touch.
The vibrational remedies don't contain a substance that promotes healing--they contain the "signature" or vibration of a particular substance. That vibration resonates with the vibration of human cells to stimulate healing. Dr. Gerber points out that "while the chemical agents of modern medicine may treat the symptoms of disease, vibrational remedies create energy changes at multiple levels in order to produce a more lasting healing."
Many people have tried vibrational remedies and know they work. Dr. Gerber provides the scientific data needed to validate that knowledge. Readers new to vibrational medicine will find his book a treasure trove of information; and those who have experienced it first hand will appreciate the thoroughness of his research and documentation. Summary: Really worthwhile, with real practical value.
Comments: A really good book, but it asumes a certain amout of background knowledge on the part of the reader. It does, however provide sufficient information for the reader to gain some real insite into his/her personality, with a few basic calculations. You will need to refer back regularly and apply what has been learned to gain the full benefit from this book. I would have liked a more in-depth coverage of certain topics that I found particularly interesting, so as to aquire a more detailed understanding. A book well worth having if you read Keith Mason, David Tansley or Alice Bailey.

Summary: Fascinating, Page Turning, Mind Boggling
Comments: One of the most fascinating books I have read in the last 20 years (and I've read thousands). The author just presents brief histories and study results (well foot-noted so you can look them up yourself) of different kinds of alternative medicines or energy therapies...you are left to draw your own conclusions. Really makes you think outside the box where traditional Western medicine is concerned...what if we've been barking up the wrong tree all this time...what if there really is something to magnetism, homeopathy, etc.?? Can health be that easy and simple? A page-turner I will read again and again.
