Candida Albican Yeast-Free Cookbook, The : How Good Nutrition Can Help Fight the Epidemic of Yeast-Related Diseases ASIN: 0658002929
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Easy Candida Recipes
Comments: I thought this book was very helpful. What I liked most was the "rainbow meal plan" which listed the vegetables and meat combinations you could have on this diet at every meal. Because there are so many vegetables/meat combinations to choose from you shouldn't get bored. The plan also recommends steaming for all your food so it's easy to prepare - all you need is water, a pot and a steamer. The downside is you do have to chop a lot of veggies - however, it's worth it! I also had a hard time with another recipe which called for "Homemade Potassium Baking Powder" pg.83. In the recipe the book says to use potassium bicarbonate which can be ordered from a pharmacy. However, when I went to pick up my bicarbonate it had a skull and cross bone on the bottle and was rated somewhat toxic. When I talked to the pharmacist he said I needed to know what percentage of the potassium bicarbonate was called for because potassium bicarbonate is a strong base. Anyway I had no way to get that information so I skipped that recipe. So obviously the book should be more detailed about things like that. Yet even with this snafu I thought the book was helpful and still use most recipes.

Feast Without Yeast: 4 Stages to Better Health: A Complete Guide to Implementing Yeast Free, Wheat (Gluten) Free and Milk (Casein) Free Living ASIN: 0967005701
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Smart, Delicious, and Healthy
Comments: Of all the cookbooks I've purchased, this is my absolute favorite. Recipes are EASY and DELICIOUS. The bonus is that you feel great knowing that what you're putting in your body is absolutely healthy. As you read the book you learn that the authors are both exceptionally well-informed and educated; advice is practical. I recommend this book to everyone and not only people with yeast problems. Since I've turned my friends on to the recipes in this book, they also purchased their own copy.

Special Diet Solutions: Healthy Cooking Without Wheat, Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, Yeast or Refined Sugar ASIN: 1889374008
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A great cookbook, even if you don't have dietary restriction
Comments: This book really makes it easy to eat ALMOST anything you can imagine, even if you have to avoid wheat, gluten, eggs, and dairy, like I do. The cornbread recipe is as good as our family recipe, and everything I've tried works. My family doesn't know they're on my diet!

Easy Breadmaking for Special Diets : Wheat-Free, Milk- And Lactose-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Yeast-Free, Sugar-Free, Low Fat, High To Low Fiber ASIN: 1887624023
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Good
Comments: My mother is allergic to wheat and so am I, so this book is a godsend to us, as it means we can now eat sandwiches. However I live in Ireland so I found it difficult to get used to "cups" rather than pounds and ounces, but once I learnt one cup is 8 fluid ounces, I discovered it is actually an easier and more accurate measurement of ingredients than using weighing scales. I actually want to advise anybody from Ireland reading this - guar and Xanthan gum (essential for gluten-free bread recipes) is very difficult to purchase in Ireland and I had to purchase from Oregon, USA. The postage cost more than the products, and delivery took 10 weeks...

Overcoming Candida ASIN: 1843330423
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: At Long Last - - Fantastic, Tasty YEAST-FREE Recipes!
Comments: For most people, being diagnosed with candidiasis is like receiving a "sentence" of impending doom to eat bland, flavorless, monotonous foods in order to rid our bodies of the overgrowth of the naturally-occurring bacteria called candida albicans, which many doctors believe is the root cause of many debilitating diseases. For many years, it seems, one would need to endure 6 weeks to 6 months of this monotonous diet in order to regain proper balance between these "bad" bacteria and the "good" bacteria in our intestines - and eventually regain our health and stamina. There has always been a need for recipes to enhance the variety and enjoyment of eating that so many of us desire in order to inspire us to stay on any new diet. Xandria Williams not ONLY provides us with a potpourri of these recipes, but gives a very concise and accurate description of the "Yeast Syndrome", what causes it, what the known symptoms are, and what to do to prevent it in the future. Her writing includes many clinical descriptions, however, she makes all of it VERY easy to understand. The lists of foods to avoid, as well as alternatives to those foods was a huge help for me. Many books just list foods to avoid...with no "alternatives" that would closely replace those foods in our daily diet. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to know more about coping with candidiasis and loves to cook.

The Allergy Self-Help Cookbook: Over 325 Natural Foods Recipes, Free of Wheat, Milk, Eggs, Corn, Yeast, Sugar and Other Common Food Allergens ASIN: 051712002X
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Very informative
Comments: Although I did find that there are a few recipes which do contain ingredients that are supposedly not in this cookbook, I found the recipes interesting and tasty. If you ensure you use light buckwheat flour as recommended in applicable recipes and follow other hints provided by the author, I've found the recipes to be very good overall. This is a very good basic cookbook for people, like myself, who are just starting to discover the world of allergy free cooking/eating.
